Kōan is a conceptual line of artisanal bitters, inspired by the meditative stillness and layered complexity found in traditional Japanese flavour profiles. Each variant combines ingredients like yuzu, kombu, sakura blossom, and miso caramel, bridging Japanese tradition with the precision of modern mixology.

We approached the project as a study in restraint. The visual identity draws heavily from the language of Japanese minimalism, balancing clarity with quiet presence. Custom bottle modelling and labels were created resulting in a form that feels modern, elegant, and timeless.

From naming to packaging to typography, every element was designed to reflect the contemplative nature of the product. Kōan isn’t just about flavour it’s about quiet luxury around the act of drinking.
